Je suis spécialisé en télédétection des paramètres physiques de l’atmosphère. Je cherche principalement à caractériser les aérosols atmosphériques (fumée, poussières, particules organiques et marines) au moyen de capteurs au sol, aéroportés ou satellitaires. Les informations que j’en tire me servent à valider des modèles de qualité de l’air et à corriger les images satellitaires pour les effets atmosphériques. Mes recherches les plus récentes sont orientées sur la télédétection des aérosols dans l’Arctique (observatoire PEARL à Eureka, Nunavut), sur l’analyse des aérosols pancanadiens à partir du réseau AEROCAN, géré conjointement par Environnement Canada et par mon équipe de recherche, et enfin, sur l’analyse de données Lidars (Laser a pulsation), à partir du réseau pancanadien CORAL-Net (un Lidar CORAL-Net fait parti de l’équipement que j’utilise).
