Research topics

My research program aims to develop tools and methods for characterizing vegetation in controlled environments (e. g. agricultural environments) and natural environments (e. g. forests, riparian ecosystems, wildlife habitats), using remote sensing and geographic information systems, in a context of conservation and climate change.  



Current projects

1. Spatial characterization of ecological services provided by ecosystems (e.g. wetlands) at the watershed scale, in a context of climate change

2. Development of « unmanned aircraft-sensor » systems adapted to the characterization of agricultural and forest environments as well as wildlife inventory

3. characterization of ecological networks and corridors (spatial scales, geomatics methods, wildlife passages)

4. Development of spatial indicators for monitoring the ecological integrity of protected areas (e.g. Quebec national parks)
