Prediction of Tree Distribution using LIDAR textural and volumetric metrics
The Distribution of Tree Diameters is important information for forest managers. However, it is relatively difficult to predict and map. The arrival of LiDAR makes it possible to improve the modelling of forest attributes by using metrics derived from the point cloud. The use of textural metrics, combined with point cloud metrics, could allow a better prediction of the Distribution of Tree Diameters for forest stands in Newfoundland and Labrador.
